#1 definition of Engine | What is Engine | Engine Introduction {2020}

Engine

An engine is a mechanical device that convert chemical energy
into mechanical energy.Chemical energy means like we use
petrol or diesel so when they burn it produce a lot of heat energy

that converts later into mechanical energy. Engine is a machine
that produce and transmit the energy.

So an engine is a heart of an automobile or a vehicle because
without it the power can't be transmitted into it

[Definition: A machine that can convert chemical energy into mechanical energy is called an engine.]

classification of engine

 the classification of engine is based on several factors those are as follows:

  • On the bases where the combustion takes place
  • On the bases of Operating Cycle
  • On the basis of ignition method
  • On the basis of fuel used
  • On the basis of working stroke
  • On the basis of cooling system
  • On the basis of cylinder arrangement
  • On the basis of ignition system
